Kahete Coffee Factory is located north of Nairobi in Muranga County, near the town of Gitugi. Due to the high altitude where the farms are located, the coffee cherries are able to mature slowly, highlighting the inherent complex fruit flavours in the cup. The area surrounding Kahete is densely populated, so the factory is focused on minimising the potential impact and making sure that local waterways remain clean and uncontaminated. The resulting cup is a classic Kenya, bold with berry flavours, syrupy texture and incredible structure.
